Six Things You Shouldn't Assume About Staying At A Motel

Blog

Arranging to stay in a motel can provide you with comfort and convenience while you're traveling. The following are six things you shouldn't assume about staying at a motel.

A motel won't have the amenities that you need.

You shouldn't assume that you won't get access to any amenities in a motel. These days, many motels offer amenities like Wi-Fi and cable. Some motels even offer laundry facilities, a swimming pool, and more.

A small motel's rooms are never as clean as rooms in a larger hotel.

A motel with good reviews and a great reputation typically has immaculately clean rooms. In fact, motel rooms can be cleaner than the rooms of a larger hotel establishment. This is because motel cleaning staff can put more time into cleaning individual rooms since there are fewer rooms to clean.

You won't be able to find a motel near your travel destination.

Some people assume that motels are always in locations that are far away from popular travel destinations and tourist attractions. However, you should be able to find a motel that's close to your destination with some research and effort.

You don't need to book your motel stay in advance of your trip.

You shouldn't assume that motel rooms will always be available so that you don't have to book in advance. Even smaller motels can become fully booked, so you should make sure that you have a booking ready rather than planning on booking a room at the last minute.

You don't need to arrange an overnight stay in a motel because you can simply return home after your event.

You could really end up regretting it if you decide to drive home after an event you're traveling to rather than staying at a nearby motel. This is especially true if you're going to an event that will be over late at night or that will involve consuming alcohol.

Having a nearby motel booked can allow you to enjoy a comfortable night's sleep before you head home so that you can avoid driving when you're tired or after you've consumed alcohol.

You'll have to travel far for dining if you stay at a motel.

Motels typically don't include a dining establishment like larger hotels do. However, this does not necessarily mean that you're definitely going to have to travel far to get something to eat if you stay in a motel.

Many motels have dining facilities located next door or down the street. Some also offer vending machines and other food options. It's also possible to get food delivery to a motel room that can make it quick and easy to have a good meal in your room.

Making The Most Of Your Hotel Experience

When I started traveling a lot for work, I assumed that the best thing about any hotel was the pool. I would go out to dinner someplace close to the hotel every night, and simply watch TV or sit in the hot tub. However, after talking with a friend of mine, I discovered that hotels offer a lot more than I thought. My friend asked me to try room service and to rent movies in my hotel room. It was incredible to learn all of the tricks to staying in a hotel, and I want to share them with you. As you travel, remember the articles on this website.
